Description
Compared to the original power supply, it has twice as little ripple voltage at the
output terminals at a given nominal current, which has a more beneficial effect on the tape
recorder itself. With the use of more modern low ESR capacitors, properly connected, the
internal resistance of the power supply is also significantly smaller, which affects the greater
"hardness" of the power supply.
The transformer is designed with a lower magnetic flux density, which is reflected in
the reduction of the magnetizing current and the silence of the power supply. The core of
the transformer used is high-grade quality for the smallest possible losses.
FAQ
Is it possible to use this power supply to power the Nagra III?
The ATN 2.0 power supply must be used only with Nagra IV or 4.2. The Nagra III has a different supply voltage and DIN connector pinout.
Why does the power supply have two fuse holders?
It is a prevention against accidental switching from 115 V to 230 V. If the power supply is connected to the 230 VAC network and is accidentally switched by the user to 115 VAC (which the user may switch ONLY AFTER DISCONNECTING the source from the mains), basically nothing happens. For to switch the ATN 2.0 source, it is also necessary to insert the prescribed fuse into the corresponding holder.
Is the power supply waterproof?
No. The power supply meets the same IPxx classification as the original power supply for Nagra IV and 4.2.
